main use dipropylene glycol butyl ether (DPnB) is a colorless and transparent liquid with slight ether smell and bitter taste, soluble in water, with good binding force, good solubility and binding performance to coating resin, and is an excellent film-forming additive. Dipropylene glycol butyl ether, as a commonly used film-forming additive for water-based coatings, has a great effect. First of all, to improve the film-forming property, DPNB is not hydrophilic, and it is easy to break emulsion in some water-based emulsions, so special attention should be paid when using it. One of the major effects of DPNB is to improve the viscosity of the water-based coating system, especially the multi-solvent system. The thickener has no effect at all. DPNB combined with the neutralizer can greatly improve the viscosity of the coating, has good storability, and will not sag and bloom when thinning. DPNB can also improve the defoaming of water-based coatings, which is helpful for defoaming both in production and construction. Dipropylene glycol butyl ether DPnB has high film-forming efficiency and medium and slow volatilization speed, so it can be applied to the following aspects: 1) Coatings: one of the most effective film-forming additives for water-based coatings, which endows the paint film with excellent performance; It can be used as a coagulant for acrylic resin, styrene acrylic resin, and polyvinyl acetate to give the paint film excellent performance. It is one of the most effective film-forming additives for many water-based coatings. 2) Cleaning agent: suitable for cleaning agent, especially in systems requiring extremely low volatilization speed, such as wax remover and floor cleaner. It is a good coupling agent for grease and grease, and can be used as a paint remover and animal grease remover. 3) Other applications: agricultural products, cosmetics, electronic inks, textiles.
